Washin' for Witt CAR WASH brings neighborhood out for a great cause
Submitted by Mike on Mon, 08/09/2010 - 9:01pmThe First Official Fundraiser was this past weekend and the neighbors really came out in big numbers to assist with the event and to get their cars washed.
The first car rolled in at 10:20 AM and we worked non-stop on at least 4 cars at a time from then until 12:00 when we graciously were provided with a 10 minute reprieve from customers. Then we were back at it full force at sometimes doing 5 cars at a time until 3:30. The weather cooperated by providing us with rain the day before the car wash to get the cars dirty and with lower than expected temperatures (we were glad to have temperatures in the low nineties vs upper nineties).

The Most Sincere Show of Sportsmanship Displayed at Softball Game on Sunday
Submitted by Mike on Tue, 07/27/2010 - 10:50pmSo here is the background of the situation:
Norm, Witt's Dad is our Softball Team Captain and founded the Westhaven Softball Team that has since become known as Mickey Roos. This year softball has been far from Norm's mind wiht the seriousness of Witt's condition, however we encourage Norm to get out on Sunday for a few hours to play games with the team. Our entire team is behind Norm and is pulling for Witt every day. A team member printed and brought name tags for us to wear during our games. The badges said in red ink Team Witt. We proudly displayed our Team Witt badges and knew that we were playing to lift Norm's spirits. Our team has a long standing rivalry and tradition of 2nd place finishes.
